I pulled a most-of-the-night tinkerfest with my new Eee PC a few days ago. I tried to install OS X and Ubuntu on the tiny thing and recorded the whole process.

If your curious about installing other OSs on the Eee PC, or you’re bored and want something to watch while you eat lunch - here you go.

There are 4 parts.

Part One - How to install anything?

Part Two - Can I get OS X on here?

Part Three - Ubunteee?

Part Four - Look at me, I am an Eee PC
(This one was actually recorded the next day right before I had to go into a meeting. It was way too late the night before)

We released several new features on Tilestack.com today (released being a bit incorrect as we are still in private beta) my favorite new feature is the ability to embed tilestacks into web pages - a la youtube.com or what have you.

To get a flavor for how fun this is, here is a mildly implemented video game (it’s used for testing bits of the language so it’s not the most fun game in the world, but still cool). Remember these were all written in “Speak” which is a HyperTalk like language, and the runtime is purely JS.

And here is an example of a simple record collection database stack:

Hopefully, those give a bit of a flavor of how neat Tilestack.com is, and some of the things you can do with it. The idea of user generated widgets - little to no programming needed - just seems so cool to me.

(The beta has beta support for IE7 - that’s browser is double secret beta - and IE6 is a bit of a no show at the moment)

If you are curious about the other new features, you can read about them here. If you’re bored you can digg the story about the new features. And if you want to get in on the private beta, you can sign up heeya
